The Traffic Demon

9:55 AM / Posted by ProfoundThought /

If you ever think you’re perfect
And never make any mistakes
Take a drive at 5pm one day
You’ll literally pump your brakes

Because traffic does some things to you
To make you extremely surprised,
Sit and have to wait long enough
Your new self will arise

Dark stormy clouds will stretch
As you make your transformation
You’ll forget all your extensive vocabulary
And resort to new found language

And as the veins in your head pop
Sweat pours, while you become more stressed
Before you know it, you have to own it
That traffic demon has you possessed

See, other possessed people
Only makes the situation worst.
Never knew the dexterity of your middle finger
Or that you would even curse

Holiness is out the window,
Along with your religion
For a moment, you completely forget
That you’re responsible for your own decisions

Cutting people off,
And oh, the things you think in your head
How many people you want to slap
And how many cars you’ll dent in

Sitting in traffic
Makes you lose every portion of your natural state
Try being in it when you’re tired
Or running extremely late

So if you know anyone
Who thinks they can never be wrong
Have them drive you somewhere when it’s rush hour
They’ll sing another song.
