Fighting Lessons

Now I’m not an advocate of fighting
You see, I do most of mine in writing
But every now and then,
Some people need to be clocked
And rocked off their socks
Since they’re always poppin’ off at the mouth

They joust with their words
But how many know what they say
Are simply adjectives and not verbs?
Because all they do is talk and
Talk so much junk
That they ignite and spark
A reaction out of people..

They tend to make their verbiage lethal
So they won’t have to follow up
With all the stuff
They say they can do
And as a spectator…
You,

Just wait for the right individual to conclude
Their rude
Disposition
End dissension by creating tension between
Their face and a fist

They get on your nerves so badly
You insist on keeping tabs
To make sure someone whoops that…

Trash talk out of them
And when the moment arrives
You realize
How much you anticipated
You’ve waited and…
How elated you are
When you see David beat Goliath
And the giant….
Is no more
He’s wallowing in self-pity and
And knocking on mercy’s door
Picking up remnants of his face from the floor

Trying to regain whatever pride he had
But you know from this moment on they can no longer
Break bad

You’ve planned what you would say
For this very event
Yet all you can do is sit in the midst
Of everyone else and laugh or sit in awe

You think to yourself…he’s changed forever
