Fat America

9:17 PM / Posted by ProfoundThought / comments (0)

My country tis of thee
Sweet land of pork and beans
Of thee I sing…
Land where my fathers died
From all that chicken fried
From every countryside
Let freedom ring…..

They say it’s violence that’s killing America’s people
Heart disease and diabetes is the real consistent
Impending sequel
Somehow I seem to see through,
The veil
People don’t want to own it
They just stick with the obvious details.

Somehow we’ve derailed from the truth
People are assassinating themselves
No need for John Wilkes Booth.
I root….
For the cause but also
See things from an objective perspective
All these obese individuals in America…

We need to make changes and I mean
As a collective….
Unit,
Pursuant to a severe degree of urgency
We over do it,
Go through it
Then cry emergency

(Pause)

Excess fat back, pig feet, and chitlins
Burger King, Micky Dees, Wendy’s
Just a tidbit sickenin’

We sittin’ in our kitchens
Frying everything we can
Call it southern cooking but
Expanding like rubber-bands
And….
We don’t stop until we’re knocked out
On the floor
Excess country
So use to the concept
Of “gimme more”

I implore us to ensure that our children
Are not left as orphans
Especially since we like sugar coating everything
And excreting fib endorphins

We’ve been subtly endorsing
This negative gluttonous behavior
Until we find ourselves in danger

Myself included…..

Let’s not…

Dig ourselves into an early grave
And pave
The way for our children to follow
Cause when they’re sick
What other tomorrow can we borrow?

Dez Bryant....Is Your Mother A Prostitute?

Stop!
And rewind
Please just take a moment and allow me
To replay that line…..
“Is your mother a prostitute?”

Somebody must have said
That prostitution is hereditary
I’m still trying to figure out
If asking a question of that latitude is ordinary

And who has the balls to come out
And ask someone’s most sacred business?
As a result of Ireland’s negligence
It’s now full blown and broadcast on television

I wish you would ask me what my mother did……..

That doesn’t have anything to do with
All the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears I put in.

Just to make it this far, then to be humiliated….
I don’t care what your concerns are
Your interview was over-rated!

Imagine walking in a job interview to work at a school
And then have them ask about all the dudes..
Your mother slept with.

Perhaps they should question
Whether you sister is trickin’
And if she’s not
What kind of positions….
She likes in bed

I mean there’s no limit to what
They should be able to ask
Working for the NFL
Gives them a free pass…..

To harass and make you feel less of a person.

Props to Bryant
He could have been in there cursing
Cause that…….
Was a cheap shot

Anybody feel different?

Please DO Stop the Music

10:42 PM / Posted by ProfoundThought / comments (0)

(soon to be peformed at a venue near you)

Nowadays the shackles of bondage are imperceptible
Embedded in the chambers of conscience
Gradually penetrating the inseparable
Mind, spirit, body and soul
Streams of melodies seamlessly
Travel the airwaves and load
Megabites of information
That corrupt your hardrive
Making you think you’re a
G, thug, beauty queen or that you’re barely alive
And it’s infiltrating everyone’s system
Need to be injected with that so called truth serum
Viruses uploaded, you don’t know it
Constantly siphoning your identity
With every encounter, you’re devoured and become a different being

Brainwashed by its seductive and soothing caress
Oppositional defiance a direct result
Of being held under duress
Because if it were a cop
You’d be imprisoned by its words
Never to escape it
In constant contact, like germs
And the only sanitizer is to embrace the positive kind
Music hits the soul, so you gotta peep the vibe

Because it will have you in instant transition
Happy at one moment,
The second…realizing what your missing
Ever listened
to a love song to put you in the mood
Amp up the volume of demolition lyrics
To make sure you’re fueled?

Try playing a sad love song
You’ll immediately reminisce the frustration
Caused by your significant other
Or if you’re single,
Fantasize a situation

And all you have to do
Is touch that dial,
or change your Cd to hear what you wish he’d say to you

(sings)
“It started when we were younger you were my….
My booooooo….”
Loved………… you, feel warm and cozy inside
Until you hear these lines

(Sings)
“You look so dumb right now, standing outside my house
Trying to apologize
You’re so ugly when you cry
Puhlease just cut it out”

And that’s when things go south
You just get deranged and start thinking about

Sings

"I bust the windows out your car
Know that I did it cause my broken heart"

Next thing you know your angry
Maybe, just maybe that’s why your safety is impaired

Especially if you’re a dude
And all you do is swear….

Sings
"You can’t man em then you mop em
You can’t stand them
Then you drop em
Cause we pop em like a Orville redenbacher
Mother---"

What?
Maybe that’s why you got relational problems
And we got babies without fathers
And mothers who harbor resentment
Insecure with low self-esteem
And kids who are inches…..
Away from the slammer
Better get on your knees
And just pray to make it today
Like MC hammer

Cause music is corrupting
And un-tucking us from our prepared
Beds of freedom
Cursing God in various lines of genre
Talking bout how we don’t need Him

But the enemy
Finds the inner me
Through the energy of a beat
Comprised and put together by those who
Expunge their heartfelt emotions
Onto loose leaf
As we repeat
the words
The words
The words
Ya heard….
Ya heard
Ya heard

Ya heard
Ya heard
Ya heard
The words
The words
The words

See….
All I had to do was put it in a jingle
Now you’ll have it stuck in your brain
On the train singing this
Lethal
Dose of gibberish
Since it had a catchy tune
Some of you argue the point
Music has no impact
Ya’ll just hot air balloons….

Don’t assume
You can’t be motivated by lyrics
If that’s the case
Why do people want to hear it?

Won’t you play Lil’ Wayne or use his lyrics
As a hymnal
Romance your spouse
With “I hate you so much right now”
And try to re-kindle
An ounce of relationship
You were trying to bring back to life

Or

Maybe they should play the slow version
Of amazing grace at a wedding
Take away all the sound
Off the reels and movie settings

Cause music doesn’t impact

We can see tv without sound
Just be intrigued by words coming out mouths
I beg to differ
Unlike you
I won’t live in denial

How bout
You re-shelve your cds, mp3s and cases
See if your life takes a positive turn
When you start erasing
Negativity and lust from your going through
Your auditory sense
Maybe you be less inclined
To pop a nine or raise up your fist

(sings) Cause music makes the world go round
Try adding to it a positive sound

And see the difference

The Irony of Our Nation's Capital....Washington DC

11:41 AM / Posted by ProfoundThought / comments (0)

It’s ludicrous
How we’re doing this
To our own people

Slowing down
The pace of our race
And the taste for blood
Is on the palettes of many
Bloodthirsty vampires in thug apparel
They really
Don’t care about those ensnared
They just keep on sinning ….

I envy
Those who find peace
And sleep
While the streets
Are invaded
If you can carry burdens
Then man
I’m heavy laden

They say life is what you make it
But I take it
A lot of people out here
Haven’t made it much
Or they’ve been touched
By a rush of bad luck
Where $1 buck requires due diligence
And I know they’re sick of this……

Selfish society
While capital hill
Sees these acts as mere improprieties
And we silently
Pass them by
With our judging eyes
And say it’s pathetic
When easily our love could be their anesthetic but…
We let it …

Continue on its course
In all sorts
And build forts around them
Hear shots ricochet
And we allow them
And for those who try to escape
We drown them
In oxymoronic jargon

Like you can’t get foodstamps
If you’re homeless
That’s as bogus
As spokeless wheels to a bike
That’s like saying here’s a handout…..
To lift you from poverty

Sike!
We didn’t mean it really
You get out the hood?
You…..
Don’t be silly

And if that isn’t enough
We say stuff like
They depend on the government
Too much
Probably wouldn’t
If getting off the system
Wasn’t so darn tough

I must
Be going
But let this be a word
To the prudent…..
If ever a moment arises
Where you lose a loved one, a job etc
You could be going through this…..

Show some love.

The Traffic Demon

9:55 AM / Posted by ProfoundThought / comments (0)

If you ever think you’re perfect
And never make any mistakes
Take a drive at 5pm one day
You’ll literally pump your brakes

Because traffic does some things to you
To make you extremely surprised,
Sit and have to wait long enough
Your new self will arise

Dark stormy clouds will stretch
As you make your transformation
You’ll forget all your extensive vocabulary
And resort to new found language

And as the veins in your head pop
Sweat pours, while you become more stressed
Before you know it, you have to own it
That traffic demon has you possessed

See, other possessed people
Only makes the situation worst.
Never knew the dexterity of your middle finger
Or that you would even curse

Holiness is out the window,
Along with your religion
For a moment, you completely forget
That you’re responsible for your own decisions

Cutting people off,
And oh, the things you think in your head
How many people you want to slap
And how many cars you’ll dent in

Sitting in traffic
Makes you lose every portion of your natural state
Try being in it when you’re tired
Or running extremely late

So if you know anyone
Who thinks they can never be wrong
Have them drive you somewhere when it’s rush hour
They’ll sing another song.

Fighting Lessons

10:01 AM / Posted by ProfoundThought / comments (0)

Now I’m not an advocate of fighting
You see, I do most of mine in writing
But every now and then,
Some people need to be clocked
And rocked off their socks
Since they’re always poppin’ off at the mouth

They joust with their words
But how many know what they say
Are simply adjectives and not verbs?
Because all they do is talk and
Talk so much junk
That they ignite and spark
A reaction out of people..

They tend to make their verbiage lethal
So they won’t have to follow up
With all the stuff
They say they can do
And as a spectator…
You,

Just wait for the right individual to conclude
Their rude
Disposition
End dissension by creating tension between
Their face and a fist

They get on your nerves so badly
You insist on keeping tabs
To make sure someone whoops that…

Trash talk out of them
And when the moment arrives
You realize
How much you anticipated
You’ve waited and…
How elated you are
When you see David beat Goliath
And the giant….
Is no more
He’s wallowing in self-pity and
And knocking on mercy’s door
Picking up remnants of his face from the floor

Trying to regain whatever pride he had
But you know from this moment on they can no longer
Break bad

You’ve planned what you would say
For this very event
Yet all you can do is sit in the midst
Of everyone else and laugh or sit in awe

You think to yourself…he’s changed forever

Rape Games

10:01 AM / Posted by ProfoundThought / comments (0)

This world is raising sexual predators
When they create characters
Through virtual media to exploit women
And what we live in
Becomes a staging ground
Where the sounds of violence
Rise with a thunderous applause
Cause the jaws of apprehension
Become a hand clap of praise
And the sage that is raised
Is knowledgeable in ways to violate

While the eye gate is constantly viewed
As being in no ways used to create an impression
That’s the deception in the message
And it’s no longer subliminal
It’s literal with tasteless acts
That trap the metaphysical

People will subject themselves to
Lust and fleshly cravings
And will become overdrawn with aggression
Like insufficient funds in savings
There will be no peace on the streets
And sleep will be a hard commodity to come by

As I lift up these eyes
No longer surprised
At the despicable things people do
My views seem misconstrued
For those who assume….
Anything is fair game when it comes to making big bucks,
But anything at the expense of moral collateral
Should be rushed into corners where
No light gives way
Since that’s exactly from whence they came

People rise up

Shut down the overly excessive
And greedy mongrels

Arise
World that appears
To seek out trouble

Open your eyes and ears
To hear and see vicious conniving designs
Protest against criminal intent
My people
Arise
